“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
— Matthew 5:16
In addition to pastoral ministry, Woodlake Lutheran trains and supports a team of lay people who visit, befriend, and send cards to those who are homebound. They bring communion, friendship and prayer to those who are not able to attend worship services. We are also strive to keep our homebound members connected to children and youth, by making and sending cards, bringing children’s programs to senior facilities, and looking for ways to foster one-to-one connections. We are always looking for ways to expand this ministry, and reach out to more people who need a befriender. If you are interested in befriending someone who is homebound, please contact the office to get in touch with Sue Kelly, who is the head of this ministry. If you know someone who would appreciate a visitor, please contact the church office, and we will make a connection.
