Our next drive-in service will take place on Sunday, September 27, at 10am in our parking lot (2120 W 76th Street). The service will be broadcast live over a short-range FM transmitter. Communion will take place with individually packaged wine and wafers. Attendees will not have access to the building, including restrooms, so please plan accordingly.
A limited amount of outdoor seating is available, but please bring your own chair and plan to wear a mask if you are outside of a car.
The service will also be live-streamed on Facebook , so you can still worship from the comfort of your own home! If you do not have Facebook, or you — or we!! — experience technical difficulties, the service will be posted later on YouTube and here on our website.
As today marks the last day of summer and tomorrow, September 22, 2020 marks the first day of fall, we already notice each day the sunlight struggling to break forth in the morning and yawning earlier and earlier in the evenings. Even while the daylight hours dwindle more quickly as we make our way toward the winter solstice, we never stop Marching in the Light of God!
Enjoy this festive arrangement of SIYAHAMBA: We are Marching in the Light of God, by John Carter as God’s light burns constant and bright in our hearts.
Rally Day – This Sunday, September 13! 10am in Woodlake’s Parking Lot
Join us to celebrate the traditional beginning of our programming year… in a very non-traditional way!
Enjoy a drive-in worship service at 10am, followed by free boxed lunches for an outdoor picnic. All festivities will be outside and socially distanced, including lots of fun stuff for kids such as sidewalk chalk and a scavenger hunt. Restrooms will be available during lunch, but please note that in accordance with health recommendations our drinking fountains have been turned off.
As in August, the service will be broadcast live over a short-range FM transmitter, so you can join from the comfort of your own vehicle. Communion will take place with individually packaged wine and wafers. A limited amount of outdoor seating is available, but please bring your own chairs and plan to wear a mask if you’re outside of a car. Worship will also be live-streamed on Facebook and posted later to YouTube and our website.
In keeping with the ELCA theme for this day of “God’s Work, Our Hands,” (read more about this on the ELCA website), please consider bringing a non-perishable food item for the VEAP food shelf. Items will be collected before and during the service. As always, thank you for your generosity in helping our neighbors in need!
