Message for March 27
Broken and Remade: Repentance
What does God think of us?
What does confession mean in the Lutheran context?
What becomes of all the broken pieces of our lives?
Wednesday Morning Matins for March 25, 2020

As we take time to observe social distancing, we at Woodlake Lutheran invite you into a time of Morning Prayer. The following practice may be done individually, or with one or two in your household leading the whole family in a time of prayer.
Begin with centering yourself in a quiet space. Take three slow breaths. After this, speak these words: Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, O God, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. Praise to the blest and holy Trinity, one God, who gives us life, salvation, and resurrection.
Readings
Isaiah 41:13 – For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.”
2 Timothy 1:7 – For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
Philippians 4:6-7 – Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Pray
O God, you have called your servants to ventures of which we cannot see the ending, by paths as yet untrodden, through perils unknown. Give us faith to go out with good courage, not knowing where we go, but only that your hand is leading us and your love supporting us; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Bless Almighty God bless us, and direct our days and our deeds in peace. Amen.

Broken and Remade: Broken by Sin

Last week we remembered that we are all created beautifully by God. We colored on clay pots to symbolize that beauty. This week we reflect on how the presence of sin causes brokenness in our lives.
